where human agility leads

Professional Track Selection

Two distinct professional pathways.

Choose the career path that matches your ambition. Both tracks run on the same model: real work, direct mentorship, structured instruction, and a credential earned on demonstrated practice.

PATHWAY 01

Project Management

Drive complex initiatives to completion by aligning teams, managing operational conditions, and navigating change. Learn to lead modern work environments with sustainable, human-centered performance practices.

PATHWAY 02

Management Analyst

Analyze organizational systems, optimize workflow dynamics, and solve systemic operating problems. Master data-informed decision-making and ethical AI governance to transform how work gets done.

The Leadership Pathway

Certified Human Systems Associate (CHSA)

Both tracks enter through the CHSA foundation, the shared trunk of HCA’s credential architecture before it branches into the Human Systems Architecture and Leadership Development pathways. It attests to your ability to read work environments, preserve human capacity, and govern AI integration.

DISCIPLINE 1

Human Systems Design

Analyze capacity erosion, cognitive load, and conditions that protect or exhaust human capability.

DISCIPLINE 2

Transformation Readiness & Sustainability Intelligence

Read environmental signals and feedback latency to assess systemic change readiness over rhetoric.

DISCIPLINE 3

Modern Ways of Working

Recognize linguistic withholding, protect candor, and establish conditions for collaborative flow.

DISCIPLINE 4

Future of Work & AI

Preserve human judgment and retain strategic accountability while using automated systems.

These four are the disciplines of the Human-Centered Body of Practice. They inform professional formation across every HCA credential. They are not separate tracks and none of them is optional.

The Registered Apprenticeship runs in two parts. Part One, Human-Centered Practice Foundations, establishes the groundwork. Part Two, Certified Human Systems Associate, is the applied stage, and it is where employment begins. Both parts belong to one program and you enter once.

Validation by Demonstration, Not Attendance

CHSA credentials are awarded through rigorous live validation: an Integrated Conditions Analysis, a Work Portfolio, and a Live Defense before authorized assessors. You graduate with verified capability, not just a certificate of completion.

The Apprenticeship Model

Five core elements running simultaneously.

None of this happens in a classroom you attend separately. Every element runs inside your daily employment.

Employment

From Part Two you are employed, with real responsibility and wages set in the registered program standards.

Expert Mentorship

Direct, 1-on-1 supervision from seasoned practitioners inside the business.

Structured Learning

MassHire-approved instruction drawn from HCA's professional standard.

Portfolio Evidence

Demonstrate capability through authentic impact in real operating environments.

Credential

An HCA professional credential, earned on practice you demonstrated in real work.

Sponsorship Options

Two ways in.

UPGRADE YOUR CURRENT ROLE

Sponsoring Existing Employees

Already working? Your current employer can partner with HCA as a Registered Sponsor. You stay in your job, and your apprenticeship happens inside the work you already do.

HCA coordinates with your employer's HR leadership to handle registration and standards compliance.

CAREER CHANGE OR ENTRY

HCA & Partner Employer Network

HCA also employs apprentices directly. You are paid by HCA, formed by HCA, and you work on real assignments under HCA supervision. HCA is additionally building relationships with regional employers who may participate as apprenticeship employers.

This route exists for people who do not have an employer route in, which is most people changing direction.

When it begins

One program, running in two parts.

You enter once. Part One and Part Two are stages of the same Registered Apprenticeship, not separate programs you apply to twice.

PART ONE  ·  COHORTS FROM NOVEMBER 2026
Human-Centered Practice Foundations

Four cohorts: November 2026, December 2026, February 2027 and April 2027. Each runs about thirteen weeks. Deliberately small, and the groundwork for everything that follows.

PART TWO  ·  MONTHLY STARTS AFTER PART ONE
Certified Human Systems Associate

The applied stage, across both the Project Management and Management Analyst occupations, with an employer and a mentor. Orientation on the second Thursday of each month; registration closes two Fridays before. This is where employment begins.

Worth being clear about

What this is not.

×

Not an internship. The Registered Apprenticeship is employment, with the obligations and protections that carries.

×

Not a course with a job attached. The job is the apprenticeship. The instruction supports it.

×

Not a guarantee of employment afterwards. Apprentices finish with a credential and demonstrated experience. What follows depends on you and on the market.

×

Not a fast track. A Registered Apprenticeship is measured in months and years, because capability is demonstrated rather than attended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know.

Can my current employer sponsor my apprenticeship?

Yes. If your current employer signs on as a participating employer under HCA's registered sponsorship, your training and certification happen inside your existing role while keeping your current job.

What credentials do I earn at completion?

You earn a Registered Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion from the Massachusetts Division of Apprentice Standards, alongside HCA’s own Certified Human Systems Associate (CHSA)credential, the shared foundation of HCA’s credential architecture. The apprenticeship is registered by the Commonwealth. The CHSA credential is awarded by HCA. This also opens a route to internationally recognized certificates and diplomas.

What is Human-Centered Practice & AI Governance?

It is the discipline of structuring work systems around human cognitive limits, psychological safety, and deliberate human agency when collaborating with automated AI systems.

How long does it take?

Part One, Human-Centered Practice Foundations, runs about thirteen weeks, Monday to Friday, in a cohort. Part Two, the Registered Apprenticeship, is a 2,000-hour term with an employer: about a year at full time, longer at fewer hours a week. Registered Apprenticeships are measured in months and years rather than weeks, because the point is demonstrated capability rather than completion of content.

Is this only for people in Massachusetts?

HCA’s program is registered in Massachusetts and the first cohorts are Massachusetts-based. Applicants must be at least 18 and authorized to work in the United States. If you live outside Massachusetts and have an employer here willing to sponsor you, apply and tell us in the application.

Do I need a prior college degree to apply?

No. Admission is based on practical readiness and potential rather than academic background. The application asks about your eligibility, your experience, and your availability for Part One and Part Two; readiness assessments in math and English follow for applications that advance.

What about pay?

Part Two is employment: apprentices are paid by their employer from the day they start, on a wage schedule set in the registered standards. Part One is not employment; it is the foundation stage before it. Eligible Massachusetts applicants may qualify for grants or scholarships, and the application asks whether you have a potential employer sponsor.
